This privacy notice for Daimo, Inc ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your information when you use our services ("Services"), such as when you:

  • Download and use our mobile application (Daimo), or any other application of ours that links to this privacy notice
  • Use Landline, our service for transferring stablecoins to or from a bank account
  • Engage with us in other related ways, including any sales, marketing, or events

SUMMARY

What personal information do we process? The Daimo app does not require any personal information such as your name, phone number, or address. The username you chose when creating a Daimo account is recorded on a public blockchain, visible to the world. We may store limited technical information related to API usage, such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, operating system version, the configuration of the application, the time and date of your use of the application, and other statistics, for a limited retention period.

Landline requires personal information in accordance with applicable law, including KYC (Know Your Customer) law.

Do we process any sensitive personal information? For the Daimo app, we do not process any sensitive personal information. For Landline, we process but don’t store sensitive personal information. In additional, all application logs are stored with a limited retention window.

Do we receive any information from third parties? We do not receive any information from third parties.

How do we process your information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so. In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? We may share technical information related to API usage with specific third parties in specific situations, such as for log aggregation.

For Landline, we share personal and banking information only with partner financial institutions essential to Landline’s functionality.

How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

In Short: Minimal information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

Personal information you disclose to us

Sensitive Information. If you use Landline, we may collect sensitive information as per relevant Know-Your-Customers (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules in your jurisdiction. This data is processed in accordance with local laws by us and our third party partners Bridge Ventures Inc. and Astra Inc.

Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:

  • Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account. If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings.

Information automatically collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Note that we only collect logs related to API usage server-side. We retain them for a limited period. More detailed client-side logs are not collected automatically. You may send them for diagnostic support using the Send Debug Log feature in-app.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

  • To protect our Services. We may process your information as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure, including fraud monitoring and prevention.
  • To evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience. We may process your information when we believe it is necessary to identify usage trends, determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience.
  • To identify usage trends. We may process information about how you use our Services to better understand how they are being used so we can improve them.

3. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

4. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 5. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?

In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this privacy notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this privacy notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.

7. HOW CAN YOU DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT?

You can navigate to your account settings in the application and use the Delete Device function. This will permanently delete all information stored on your device, including cryptographic secrets. Any past transactions will remain recorded on the blockchain. (All blockchains, including Ethereum, are append-only: history is permanent.) Any server logs related to API usage involving your account will expire after a short retention period.
